[emily saliers] "when lyris and i did the demos, a lot of them were done with beats not played by human players. i became so attached to some of those beats that i said, "we've got to use this on the record." we had been working on "331," another bonus track, for a while when i said, "we have not been able to recreate the thing that blows me away about this track. we've got to use the drum machine." so, we went with that in the end. i just go by what moves me emotionally and musicalities from all over the world are what really move me.
