outq to present world aids day concert
new yorknovember 29, 2006sirius satellite radio has announced that
it will honor the 18th annual world aids day  - friday, december 1 -
with an exclusive live concert event on outq in the morning with larry
flick, the daily morning show on sirius outq, the nation's first and
only 24/7 glbt radio channel.

internationally celebrated and grammy-award winning recording artist
cyndi lauper, grammy award-winning recording artist jody watley,
international dance recording artist martha wash, and gay recording
artist josh zuckerman are among the artists scheduled to perform live
from the sirius satellite radio studios in new york city.

the outq in the morning world aids day concert: a celebration of life
will air live from 7:00-11:00 am et on friday, dec. 1, on sirius outq
channel 106. this extraordinary event unites world-renowned musicians,
leaders from the glbt community, and everyday people from the sirius
outq audience for a morning devoted entirely to the aids epidemic.

interspersed with live musical performances will be frank and
wide-ranging conversations about aids, including personal stories of
adversity, triumph, living with aids and being hiv positive, and the
progress being made throughout the glbt community.

grammy award-nominee andy bell of erasure, one of the first pop
singers to come out in the early 1980s, went public with his hiv
positive status in 2004.  bell will join the discussion and offer a
rare view into his life with hiv.

additional talk guests will include: john canelli, executive director
of lifebeat:the music industry fights aids; american music award
winner randy jones of the village people; aly panichi, coordinator,
hearts & voices, lifebeat:the music industry fights aids; original
"dreamgirl" sheryl lee ralph; grammy award-winner amy ray of the
indigo girls; grammy award-nominee belinda carlisle of the go-go's,
international dance recording artist joi caldwell; grammy
award-nominee nona hendrix of the blue belles and jack e. jett of the
queer edge.

world aids day is annually observed on december 1st and is dedicated
to raising awareness of the global aids pandemic caused by the spread
of hiv infection. since world aids day originated at the 1988 world
summit of ministers of health on programs for aids prevention, the
cause has been taken up by governments, international organizations,
and charities around the world.

outq in the morning with larry flick airs monday through friday from
7:00 to 11:00 am et and features host larry flick, co-host keith
price, and producer cynthia frawley.
